Boozer Mob
Ok now! It’s about time we get this Carlos Boozer Fan Club going!! In my opinion, last year Boozer was unfairly criticized for some inopportune comments he made to ESPN’s Chris Sheridan about his plans to opt out of his contract at the end of the season. Many absent-minded or possibly just misinformed Jazz fans carelessly knocked Carlos for his untimely remarks. I believe Boozer’s comments were incorrectly interpreted and made him look greedy and unhappy playing in Utah when all he wanted was an opportunity to get a “…long-term contract and have stability.” That isn’t greedy to me. He just wants what’s best for his family. Also, I don’t believe he was really ever unhappy playing in Utah until so many fans turned their backs on him for his comments to ESPN. Some people may disagree, but there is no denying the intensity and passion Boozer is playing with this year. You can tell he wants to be here.
Check out these stats from last night’s game against Kevin Durant and OKC: 26 Points on 11-15 FG and 4-4 FT. That’s 73% FG and 100% FT! He also posted 7 Rebs, 3 Assists, and 2 Steals. This season, Booz is shooting 52% from the field and a much improved 84% from the line. Impressive numbers for a power forward. All-Star, Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks) is one of the only other top power forwards with a better free-throw percentage than Boozer this year at 89%. As far as field-goal percentage goes, Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns) is one of the only power forwards shooting better from the field than Carlos at 55%. Boozer has played extraordinarily well as of late. He is unquestionably more comfortable on his knee than last season, and i think he’s starting to win back the love of Jazz fans.
Let’s show Booz some love! Leave a comment and your name to show you got his back! Boooooz Ya!
